Located on Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor is situated along Frenchman Bay, and serves as a gateway to Acadia National Park. Visitors to the area can take in the spectacular views from Cadillac Mountain, which towers over the town. The town also has many hiking trails, and the town is surrounded by mountains and a bay. The shore path winds along the bay, and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. A stay in this quaint community will be a great experience for the entire family.

The main attraction in Bar Harbor is the Frenchman Bay shore path. The path, which was built in the 1880s, wraps around Bar Harbor Island. This path provides great views of the harbor and the historic Bar Harbour Inn. The bay is named after French explorer Samuel de Champlain, and is located in Hancock County. The area also contains many wetlands, which are home to many types of wading birds and shorebirds. During your stay in this charming town, make sure to pack a raincoat and some extra layers of clothing.

While staying in a cabin in Bar Harbor, remember to check the weather and pack a raincoat and sunblock. In the summer, the temperature may be in the low 70s, but the ocean can change the temperature quite quickly. So, you’ll want to have clothes for any weather.
