15 Best Campgrounds near Big Sur Coast

February 4, 2022 | More: Big Sur Coast| Campgrounds

California’s Big Sur Coast is an extraordinary stretch of coastline. Located between the towns of Carmel and San Simeon, Big Sur is a rugged area bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Lucia Mountains. The area is largely undeveloped, and its two-lane State Route 1 is renowned for its dramatic seaside cliffs and winding turns. There are several state parks within the area, and there are several other attractions as well.

Visitors can enjoy the scenic views from the beaches and hike to the nearby waterfalls. During the day, there are a number of beaches along the Big Sur Coast, including some with hiking trails and day-use areas. During the warmer months, you can also stay in a campground to have more privacy and comfort. Camping is also possible at one of the several nearby beaches, which have picnic areas, restrooms, and showers.

To get to the beach, you can take a scenic drive to Carmel or Monterey counties. On the Big Sur coast, you can stay at a charming inn in Carmel. The Inn features a country-style setting, with inn rooms and cottages. The area is a popular destination for outdoor activities and wine tasting. For those traveling on a budget, a hotel along the coastline is an excellent option.

During the summer months, the Big Sur Coast Highway is a popular vacation destination. Traveling through the coastal region is relatively easy and only takes about five hours one-way. The drive is beautiful, but it can be crowded with RVs during holiday weekends. The views are spectacular, but you’ll want to plan your trip carefully. Consider renting a car in Big Sur and then exploring the area while traveling by car. You’ll also want to spend a night or two in one of the nearby towns.

For an overnight stay, you’ll need to rent a car. The best way to see the Big Sur Coast is to stay in a campground. Some sites are right on the edge of the falls, and you’ll need to be prepared to hike a little. The park’s campground is also a popular destination for outdoor activities, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly. In addition to camping, you can also choose a place to stay in a hotel, which is a popular choice among locals.

If you’re camping, you’ll be surrounded by nature. There are plenty of campsites along the Big Sur coast. You can choose to camp in a campground near a waterfall. Alternatively, you can camp on the beach. Regardless of your preference, there are several places to camp in the area. You’ll love the scenery of Big Surf and the serenity of this camping spot. The campgrounds also have restrooms, and you’ll be able to enjoy the peace and quiet.
