15 Best Campgrounds near Denver

March 11, 2022 | More: Campgrounds| Denver

As the state capital of Colorado, Denver is a fascinating city with a rich history. You’ll find everything from Old West architecture to a modern art museum. This city is the jumping-off point for nearby ski resorts. Whether you want to hike, bike, or take a walk, Denver has something to offer everyone. Here’s what you should know before you go. Read on to learn more about this fascinating metropolis.

As you make your way to the mountains, head to one of the many nearby campgrounds. In the summer, you can visit the nearby Garden of the Gods, where you can go for a horseback ride, or enjoy a day on an ATV. You can also camp in the surrounding area for an overnight stay. The region offers dispersed camping as well, so you’ll have to camp in areas where you’ll get the most solitude.

If you like camping in nature, there are several options in the Denver area. If you’re on a budget, the Sawmill Campground is an excellent option. The campground is situated on a lake and is accessible by trail from downtown. It is a small hike, but the views of the city are spectacular. You can even find firewood at this site, if you’d like. This campground is 40 minutes from downtown, but it can be crowded.

There are dozens of campgrounds around the city. The most popular is Chambers Lake, which sits on a reservoir. It’s surrounded by Roosevelt National Forest and is close to the Blue Lake Trailhead. It’s a quiet place with great access to the water. However, you can’t count on this campground being full. There are many others to choose from, so you can always try a dispersed campsite or another option nearby.

If you don’t own an RV, or haven’t driven there before, there are several RV parks in the Denver area. There are campgrounds that are close to the city, and the ones that are partially-equipped can provide all the amenities you’ll need for a comfortable camp. Most of them will have hot showers and laundry facilities, and there’s often a convenience store nearby if you need to purchase any supplies.

The city is home to many campgrounds. If you’re planning a camping trip, there are many options available in the city. The closest one is located 45 miles away and offers undeveloped, primitive campsites that are perfect for families. The Empire Loop is an easy way to access this popular park and see the city. It has some excellent hiking trails and is considered “very difficult” for RVs. If you’re not camping, you can still enjoy the beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.

The city is known for its cultural and artistic diversity. It hosts two of the country’s largest Hispanic celebrations, including Cinco de Mayo and El Grito de la Independencia. The latter is a particularly important event in the Hispanic community, so make sure you visit to celebrate these cultures.
