Michigan’s largest city, Detroit is known for its museums, murals and architecture. The Detroit Institute of Arts is home to the iconic Detroit Industry Murals painted by Diego Rivera and inspired by the city’s auto industry. In addition, if you enjoy music, there’s plenty to do in the “Motor City”. Motown Records’ headquarters are located in Detroit at Hitsville U.S.A., one of the city’s most famous neighborhoods.

The neighborhood of Eastpointe features many restaurants, including Buddy’s Pizza. This restaurant claims deep ties to the original Buddy’s Pizza. In 1953, Gus Guerra sold Buddy’s to Jimmy’s, and opened the Cloverleaf in Eastpointe. The name Cloverleaf was adopted by Guerra so that the Irish-American community could frequent the eatery. When the new owner introduced the Detroit-style pizza recipe to his menu, customers started to flock to the Eastpointe location.

The population in the city is age-divided: 31.1% of the population was under the age of 18, 19.3% were between 25-44 years old, and 10.4% were 65 and older. The median age in the city was 31 years old, and males outnumbered females by 67 to 100. Most residents identify as Christians, with 49% attending Protestant churches. However, there are no major religions in Detroit. Therefore, you may want to ask locals about their preferred places to eat and drink in the city.
