Whether you want to spend a day hiking or biking through the lush redwood forests, Ferndale is a great destination for any kind of vacation.

While in Ferndale, you can explore the beautiful redwood trees along the Avenue of the Giants. The area is a popular stop on a California road trip, and there are many ways to enjoy it. You can choose to make Ferndale and the Ave. of the Giants your main destination or an add-on to your California road trip. Regardless of your preference, Ferndale and the Avenue of the Giants are sure to delight. The surrounding parklands are ideal for hiking, as there are plenty of trails and scenic views to take in. A 31 mile scenic drive will have you feeling like you are in a fairytale, with a view of the towering redwoods. Taking in the scenery will take your breath away. The Avenue of the Giants is accessible from Highway 101 and Exit 674 in Scotia. From there, take Blue Slide Road to the south, then take the road to Ferndale.
