If you’re planning a trip to Florence, Oregon, you’ll want to consider staying in the Historic Old Town district, a charming town surrounded by riverfront homes. It’s located across the Siuslaw River from the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. The small town’s Old Town is full of shops and restaurants, and the riverfront is home to Steller sea lions. You can also check out the Sea Lion Caves, where you can view these endangered animals up close.

The best time to visit Florence is during the summer when the weather is nice. The city is ideal for summer vacations and is a favorite of people who love to spend time outdoors. During the off-season, it is cold, so be prepared for a chillier climate. You can also enjoy whale-watching while you’re in town. However, remember that many of the city’s amenities close during this time, so plan your trip accordingly.

While visiting Florence, you can also visit the nearby Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. This park contains some of the world’s largest sand dunes and is a popular destination for outdoor recreation enthusiasts. You can go hiking, go dune-buggy or ATV excursions, or even take a horseback ride. You can also take a dip in the Siuslaw River or crab or surf in the ocean. If you’re looking for a quiet beach, the South Jetty County Park is the place to go. Located just a few miles south of downtown, this park offers an unspoiled stretch of sandy beach. It’s a peaceful place to spend the day, away from the craziness of the city. The Heceta Lighthouse and Cape Cove are other great spots for finding these marine life at low tide. You can also visit the historical old town district, which features charming historic buildings and views of the Siuslaw River.

When you’re done touring the Historic Old Town, you can grab a bite to eat. There are many wonderful restaurants and cafes in the area, but if you want to sample the local cuisine and drinks, you can try the Beachcomber Pub in Old Town Florence. You’ll be sure to find a great meal at the Beachcomber Pub – an old-fashioned bar with excellent seafood and pub grub. For breakfast in Florence, you can also stop at Sweet Magnolia Bakery and grab a tasty pastry, quiche, or a cup of coffee.

Foodies in Florence include a number of local and national chain restaurants. Homegrown Public House focuses on organic, seasonal food. You can grab a bite for lunch or dinner at this casual restaurant. Big Dog Donuts and Deli is another popular option in Florence. Famous for its delicious apple fritters, this bakery also offers delicious donuts and homemade breads. A visit to this local favorite is definitely worth the trip! There’s something for everyone in Florence, Oregon, so be sure to stop in and try something new!
