Florence is a charming city located just about an hour and a half east of Raleigh in the state of North Carolina. Florence is a little town of about 40,000 residents that sits at the edge of the Raleigh-Crestview area. It’s well-known for being just near the middle of I-264, making it a popular stop for travelers on I-5 travel. Florence is also close to the state capitol and is home to many offices and other government buildings.

If you’re looking for a fun family vacation spot with plenty of Florence attractions, then a great option might be a Florence campsite. Florence is actually one of the largest campsites in all of South Carolina and there are many locations for visitors to choose from. Visitors can choose from an affordable Florence campsite in Ashville, NC, or they can spend more money at a luxury Florence campsite in Manteo, SC. However, no matter where your choice is, you will be close by to many of the most amazing Florence attractions. Take a look at these top places to visit while you’re in town:

Ashville – One of the most popular things to do in Florence is enjoying the beautiful Ashville downtown. The shops and restaurants here are very artsy and there are even historic buildings that you can tour. A great place to take your family or a group of friends is the Ashville Campsite, just a few blocks from Florence’s main entrance. You will find beautiful campgrounds in Ashville including White Pine Cave State Park, Silverado Trail, and Ashville Lake Campgrounds. You can also enjoy a variety of hiking expeditions, swimming and biking adventures, and taking a stroll down the streets of downtown ashville.

Manteo – Another famous attraction in Florence is the Manteo Campsite. This campground sits directly on the Manteo River. Visitors who want to experience nature close by can visit the Manteo campsite, which features a grill, a swimming pool, a playground, picnic tables, and a hot tub. The most popular activity at this campsite is canoeing. There are nine miles of river on this site.

Florence – If you don’t like to camp but still want to experience Florence in style, there’s a place that you can do both! The Florence International Airport is only minutes from downtown florence. Visitors who fly into Florence will find the closest hotel to be at the Adorers Catholic Church in Westgate Square. Other hotels that are nearby include the Florence Renaissance Hotel, the Florence Marsella, and the Florence Plaza.

There are tons of other fun activities and attractions in and around Florence. If you’re not interested in having a campsite, there are still lots of other ways to experience Florence.
