15 Best Campgrounds near Golden Colorado

May 10, 2022 | More: Campgrounds

In the foothills of the Rocky Mountains lies Golden, Colorado, an historic gold rush town. You can enjoy a day on the Clear Creek Trail, a network of paths that run along the waterway. While there, check out the Clear Creek White Water Park, where you can kayak and take a rafting course. Also, visit the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum for exhibits about earth science and the Colorado Railroad Museum, which features vintage trains and an 1800s-style railroad depot.

History buffs should visit the Colorado Railroad Museum located on West 44th Avenue. The museum is housed in a historic rail yard and contains locomotives, rolling stock, and a welcome video. In addition to a museum and tour, you can visit the town’s famous boarding and rooming house. While there, you can even feed chickens and learn about the town’s history. The Colorado Railroad Museum is a great place to spend a day exploring Golden’s past.

Fall is a great time to visit Golden, Colorado. The state has some of the most stunning fall colors in the country, and fall in Golden is no exception. There are several places to see the colors in the fall in Golden, including the rocky mountains. Golden Gate Canyon State Park has some of the best fall colors in the area, peaking in late September or early October. You can also ride a bike along Clear Creek to enjoy its golden cottonwood trees.

If you’re looking for an RV park, Golden is a great choice. This picturesque mountain town is convenient to downtown Denver and other attractions in the area. Golden’s Clear Creek RV Park is located just outside of downtown, and is close to the town’s restaurants and shopping. You’ll also be within 25 minutes’ drive of the city’s nightlife. The Clear Creek RV Park offers full-hookup sites and electrical-only sites, and is also close to the Coors Brewery, where you can take a tour of the brewery.

The history of Golden dates back to the 1862 gold rush. The city served as the capital of the Colorado Territory in the 1800s, but the state of Colorado was formed in 1876. It was a bustling hub of economic activity in the 1800s, and has maintained its appreciation of its history. In the 19th century, the gold rush brought people to the area, and the town was named after the city. The city has maintained much of its history, and visitors can still find evidence of its history.

Golden Gate Canyon State Park is another great place to explore nature. This park has over 12,000 acres of forest, rocky peaks, and meadows. There are campsites, cabins, and even yurts. And you can always spend the night here if you want to get away from the city’s bustle. It’s just a 15-minute or 20-mile drive from Golden. Once you’re done with your hiking or biking, be sure to visit the Panorama Point Scenic Overlook. It gives you a view of over 100 miles of the Continental Divide.
