Juneau is the capital city of Alaska. Located on the Gastineau Channel in the Alaskan panhandle, Juneau is the second-largest city in the United States. It is a unified municipality. In fact, there are more than 260,000 residents in the city. The population of Juneau is estimated to be 190,000, and its economy is thriving. There are numerous reasons to visit the capital city of the state of AK.

The state of Alaska maintains seven public-use cabins in Juneau, all of which sleep between six and eight people. They range in price from $25 per night to $45 per night. One cabin is located near Point Bridget State Park, 39 miles north of Juneau. The other two cabins are in the St. James Bay State Marine Park, about 35 miles to the northwest. You can also stay at the Seymour Canal Cabin, which is located 23 miles south of the city. It is accessible by boat, and you can also visit Rupe Andrews Cabin at Handtrollers Cove and Tiger Olsen Cabin at Taku Harbor.

If you’re interested in camping in Juneau, the state’s Forest Service has 13 public cabins in the city. Most of these cabins sleep between six and eight people, and they range in price from $25 to $45 per night. Eaglecrest Ski Area is the closest one, and has three lifts. The lodge has a cafeteria and rental gear. There’s also a ski school there. There are several different ski trails in Juneau.

Aside from the cruise ships, Juneau offers many opportunities for outdoor activities. You can go fishing, canoeing, hiking, biking, and camping. All of these activities are open to the public, and are great for all ages. There’s even a Discovery Room, where you can see early sailing vessels. For those who prefer more quiet and secluded accommodations, the National Archives and the State Library are also excellent resources.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, Juneau has a variety of hiking trails and is a popular spot for hiking enthusiasts. But bears are a potential problem when you are camping in the park, so it’s important to be prepared for this possibility. Store all of your food in high places and in bear proof containers. Although black bears are the most common in Juneau, brown bears are also commonly spotted in the city.

If you want to camp in Juneau, there are many RV parks that will accommodate your needs. There are even several options for cabins in the area. Some of them are located north of the city, while others are in the middle of the state. The best way to travel to Juneau is by car. The highway is a one-way road, which means that traffic is limited. If you have a rental car, you can find a campground near the airport.
