15 Best Campgrounds near Las Vegas

May 6, 2022 | More: Campgrounds| Las Vegas

While you may be thinking of gambling, you may not be considering other attractions while you’re in Vegas. While the strip is famous for its casinos, Las Vegas is also home to a rich cultural landscape, including several museums. Those interested in history can visit the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum, the Nevada State Art Museum, and the Old Las Vegas Mormon State Historic Park. Another great thing about Las Vegas is its large Downtown Arts District, which is home to many galleries and an annual film festival. For antiques, you can visit Main Street Peddlers Antiques, Rebar, and Sin City Gallery.

For those who enjoy camping in Nevada, Boulder Beach is a popular spring destination. The campground is near Lake Mead, making it an excellent spot for a beachside camping experience. Boulder Beach also offers many late-night activities and hiking trails. You can even camp in an RV here with basic amenities. You can even bring a pet if you have one! But, make sure you plan enough time to enjoy the natural attractions in Vegas.

While staying in the Strip is the easiest option, you can also try camping out in a nearby state park. You can find several public campgrounds in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. If you’re camping in the area, you can take advantage of the waterfront activities and enjoy the views of the Lava Butte Wash Wildlife Refuge. While you’re camping in Nevada, make sure to check if the campground offers a designated area for campers.

Another popular option for staying in Las Vegas is to stay in an RV. This type of camping gives you the freedom to roam the outdoors and enjoy the natural environment close to Sin City. Many RV parks also offer a variety of amenities and family-friendly activities. If you’re looking for a place to stay with your dog, Maycliff Mini Storage and RV Park is an affordable and convenient choice. This family-owned RV park is located just three miles from the Strip, making it the perfect place for you to enjoy the city.

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on a luxury RV, a state park with a campground is a good choice. This state park is a few thousand feet higher than Las Vegas and offers pleasant natural views. You’ll find showers and flush toilets, plus a visitor’s center. RVers should make sure to leave reviews, though, as most campsites fill up quickly. You’ll also be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi and educational sessions.

If you’re traveling with your large RV, you can stay in one of the many RV parks in the city. The Oasis RV Park has a 90-foot-long pull-through site and full hookups. Aside from full hookups, the park also features a large screen TV in the clubhouse. This RV park is pet-friendly, but aggressive breeds should not stay. It’s also close to downtown Las Vegas, making it a great place for those traveling with pets.
