In addition to its historic homes, Marblehead MA also boasts a 17th century graveyard and a picturesque harbor view. Located 18 miles north of Boston, this seaside town is famous for its contributions to both the American Revolution and the Civil War. With many historic buildings dating back to the 16th century, Marblehead is rich with history. In fact, the town has consistently ranked among the most expensive in the country for real estate.

Since the Mayflower Pilgrims first settled this town in 1629, Marblehead has a fascinating history. Residents were also influential in the Revolutionary War. This charming coastal New England town is home to several lauded restaurants and bed and breakfasts. A luxurious bed and breakfast located in the heart of the town’s harbor district is the Harbor Light Inn. The historic Inn is surrounded by museums, galleries, and shops.

While you’re here, don’t miss a day out at the beach. Rough Cut Park, right before Marblehead Harbor, offers picnic tables and a beach area for foot-in-the-water recreation. Visitors can also explore the town’s nautical history by visiting the USS Salem, a Guided Missile Frigate that is one of only 59 of its kind in the United States Navy. While the USS Salem is not quite as large as the famous Massachusetts Bay piers, this waterfront park offers an excellent opportunity to see the town’s history and culture.

While visiting Marblehead, be sure to visit a local inn. This historic inn has been open for over 200 years and features clean linens and cozy decor. Bike rentals are available on site for visitors and locals alike. In addition, you can explore the town on a bicycle. Biking around the town is a great way to see the sights. This historic landmark also has an excellent restaurant and an inn. It’s a great place to visit if you’re visiting Marblehead with children.

The Town of Marblehead is known for its historic homes. With winding streets, perfectly maintained historic homes, and picturesque graveyards, Marblehead is almost like an island in the Pacific. The town’s historic district protects much of its Old Town village. Originally known as Marble Harbour, it was settled by Foy immigrants from Cornwall. The town was founded as a fishing village, and was once filled with drying cod, which was exported to Salem.

The population of Marblehead MA is comprised of 8,541 households. Twenty-three percent of households were made up of children under the age of eighteen. Forty-three percent were made up of married couples, with the remaining third made up of singles. The median age in Marblehead was 42 years old. The ratio of male to female was 84.3 males to every hundred females over the age of eighteen.
