For a camping experience near Provincetown, you’ll want to stay at one of the many campgrounds. Wellfleet Hollow State Campground is located just 20 minutes from Provincetown, MA. Guests can also walk to the Highland Lighthouse, the Truro Historical Museum, and the Highland Golf Course. Wellfleet Hollow State Campground is located at 180 Old Kings Highway. There are plenty of other campgrounds in Provincetown, but these four are perfect for families with kids.

Another great option for lunch is Strangers and Saints Restaurant. Located in an old sea captain’s home on Commercial Street, this restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and a worldly menu. A local favorite, it offers fresh seafood. While it doesn’t serve the freshest food, it is the most authentic place to enjoy a meal in Provincetown. It is a fun place to eat, and you’ll feel right at home.

As for art, Provincetown has a rich history and many contemporary artists. The Provincetown Art Association and Museum, founded in 1914, hosts summer concerts and has over 700 members. There’s no shortage of places to visit in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Provincetown is located on a small peninsula, virtually surrounded by water. During the early 1800s, this peninsula was a bustling fishing village. Families subsequently moved onto the mainland to live in the city proper, where they built cheap boardinghouses and art studios. Eventually, Provincetown was home to the first official municipal government in 1714 and an art colony founded by English settlers in 1727. While the population remained relatively small, Provincetown was home to some of America’s most famous artists, including Charles Demuth and Marsden Hartley.

Getting to Provincetown by car isn’t a problem – it’s only a two or three-hour drive from Boston. If you prefer a slower pace, the town’s airport is nearby. You can also take advantage of the flex route buses that run from the city to the port of Truro. Ptown Pedicabs and Mercedes Cab & Livery offer service to the city. The airport in Provincetown is primarily a general aviation airport, although it does provide some service from JetBlue. The 3,500-foot runway and full lighting make it ideal for general aviation. The nearest national and international service is at Logan International Airport in Boston.
