15 Best Campgrounds near Roseburg Oregon

If you are looking for a weekend getaway in Roseburg Oregon, then this city offers many options. The area is filled with scenic landscapes and abundant outdoor activities. The city is also home to a number of museums and attractions, including the Oregon State University Museum of Art. If you enjoy wine, Roseburg is a great destination for you. There are also several wineries, including HillCrest Winery and Distillery. The Roseburg Beacon publishes six days a week and the Douglas County News is published weekly.

If you are camping in Roseburg, you can find many options on the Umpqua National Forest. Campgrounds are located approximately 46 miles east of the city. Nearest campgrounds include Hemlock Lake in the Woods. There are also three group camping sites with flush toilets and water hookups. If you are camping with a group, consider staying at one of the host sites, which offer bathrooms with flush toilets and sinks. Campgrounds are typically full on weekends, but you can find a few options in the area.

The Roseburg Recreation Area has tennis courts, golf courses, baseball fields, and parking areas. For outdoor activities, Roseburg is also home to Mount Thielsen, which is one of the state’s most popular destinations. This 8,000-foot mountain is home to numerous hiking trails, and is stocked with trout on a regular basis. The city’s Visitors Center can provide boating information. While Roseburg is known as a timber capital, it is also a great place to visit if you are traveling to the Oregon Coast. The town is home to beautiful landscapes, museums, and historic districts. The Umpqua River winds for 111 miles across the Cascade Range. You can also go whitewater rafting and fly-fishing on the river. For fishing, there are pristine streams and creeks full of trout and steelhead.

If you have a camping vehicle, you can enjoy a few boondocking sites near Roseburg, Oregon. Boondocking sites are located on the southeast edge of the district. They are bordered by state land and are accessible by dirt roads. You can enjoy a picnic here or hike to the fire lookout tower. You can also ride a bike along the 33-mile rim road. A few boondocking campsites are located in the area and offer full hookups and a great view.
