When to Visit: Fall foliage in Vermont is at its peak in early October. The peak occurs for a few days to a week. Though the fall foliage season is best viewed at the peak, the weeks leading up to it are also spectacular. Make sure you visit the area before or near the peak of the foliage to experience the most beautiful color. It will be worth the trip, whether for work or pleasure. The Quechee Gorge Trail starts near the Dewey Mills Pond boat landing and follows the Ottauquechee River to the Quechee Gorge.
