In Southwest Texas, there’s a city called Del Rio. It’s the county seat of Val Verde County and is 152 miles west of San Antonio. As of 2010, the population of this town was 35,591. Here are some fun facts about Del Rio. The city was founded in 1868 and is the oldest town in the Val Verde County. It is also the site of Valverde University, one of the largest in the state.

The city of Del Rio has a bustling cultural scene, and is home to many outdoor recreational activities. The city also hosts one of the largest independent bull riding events in the world, the George Paul Memorial Bull riding, which attracts tourists and locals alike every year. Once you’re done touring the historic buildings of Del Rio, make sure to check out the art center. While you’re here, you can explore the local arts scene, too.

The Firehouse was used as a jail and city hall at one point in history. You can visit the museum to see local paintings and take art classes.
