Rockport, Massachusetts, is a seaside town with a lot to offer visitors. From art galleries and boutiques to scenic views and seafood, this town has something for everyone. Here are some of the best things to do in Rockport, MA. For fun, head to the Bearskin Neck peninsula, a popular tourist spot. Bearskin Neck is home to a number of restaurants, galleries, and shops, including a surprising number of ice cream shops.

Visit Motif #1, the iconic symbol of Rockport Harbor. The 18th-century sculpture has inspired countless artists over the years. Taking photos of Motif #1 is an absolute must-do. Plus, it’s social media gold! While you’re in Rockport, don’t forget to try the local lobster, a delicacy that’s available almost everywhere in town. It’s delicious and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

Get to Rockport by car or train. Commuter rail trains depart from North Station every hour, making it easy to commute from anywhere in Boston. Acushnet, MA is another historical town that should be visited. The town was founded in 1860 and is separate from the greater Fairhaven area. It’s home to one of the oldest church buildings and ceremony in the region. It’s also home to an 1875 schoolhouse, where you can learn about local history. Along the Acushnet River, ruins of a water-powered cotton mill still stand. Nearby, the New Bedford Reservoir offers fishing, kayaking, and wildlife observation.
