15 Best things to Do in Santa Catalina Island

June 27, 2022 | More: Santa Catalina Island| Things to Do

With over 165 miles of hiking trails, Santa Catalina Island is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy nature. Hiking trails on the island are dotted with a variety of interesting plants, as well as imposing bison. To make your trip even more enjoyable, consider stopping by a local restaurant. The Catalina Island Museum is one of the island’s many attractions. You can get great food and enjoy the unique art scene, or take in a live show.

If you are looking for a nice lunch spot, there are several restaurants in town. For a quick bite, try Antonio’s Pizzeria. This local favorite has two locations – an indoor and an outdoor patio. The pizza is thin and crispy and is sure to please your taste buds. If you’re looking for a more casual setting, try the Lobster Trap. It offers fresh seafood in a comfortable setting. The storefront is decorated like an underwater scene and is a popular place among locals.

If you’re planning a vacation in the sun, don’t worry about being bored or drained. Catalina Island has plenty to offer. Aside from beaches and ocean excursions, you can enjoy great scuba diving and golf. The historic town of Two Harbors is also worth visiting. Avalon features the Wrigley Memorial and Botanic Garden. There are also museums that offer information on the history of the island. While the island is a great place to relax, it’s important to note that some attractions are closed during certain times. It is best to make your reservations in advance.

One of the most beautiful spots on the island is the William Wrigley, Jr. memorial. Located about 30 minutes from the beach, this place is surrounded by 37 acres of gardens. You’ll find plants native to the Channel Islands and California. You’ll even see a tower overlook made of rock from the island! A visit to the Wrigley Memorial is well worth the trip! While you’re here, be sure to take a stroll along the shoreline.

To reach the island, you can take a boat or helicopter from one of the mainland cities. If you’re staying in Avalon, chances are you’ll be able to reach the island by foot, or even bike. The Cyclone boat is the fastest ferry between the two towns. A short ferry ride takes just forty minutes. During peak season, multiple boats leave daily. At least one of these is scheduled to visit Santa Catalina Island.

Scuba diving and snorkeling are two of the most popular activities on the island. You’ll find plenty of fish and other marine life here. You can even learn to dive or become certified on Catalina Island. You can also get your certification at Casino Point Dive Park. There are several dive outfitters on the island. A trip to the island’s pristine waters is a wonderful way to experience nature and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
