15 Best things to Do in St. Petersburg Florida

July 4, 2022 | More: St. Petersburg Florida| Things to Do

If you’re staying in an air-BnB or hotel with a kitchen, you can visit the Italian Market for delicious Italian-style foods. This market is one of the many great things to do in St. Petersburg Florida. While there, you can even buy local seafood and make it at home. If you like to try new things, a food tour is a great way to learn about the culture of St. Petersburg while dining.

The Sunken Gardens is one of St. Pete’s oldest living museums, featuring more than 50 thousand tropical plants. The gardens’ four acres of paths are a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. You’ll find cascading waterfalls, tropical environments, flamingos, and bird habitats here. The Sunken Gardens has over a hundred years of history, making it one of the region’s oldest tourist attractions.

In addition to the pier, St. Petersburg’s fathers built the St. Pete Beach park. This half-mile pier was once home to loading docks and warehouses. Today, it’s used by swimmers and fishermen. Visitors can take a boat tour or just relax on the beach. There are several breweries in St. Pete, so there’s bound to be something that appeals to them.

If you’re an avid fisher, you can spend some time on the beautiful waters surrounding Shell Key Island. Birdwatching tours are popular and there’s a chance to see some migrating and nesting birds from a private boat or public ferry. You can also sign up for an organized tour, or take a clear-bottom kayak tour that will give you the best views of the wildlife in the area. A Groupon deal for a dolphin tour and visit to Shell Key preserve for 99$ is also worth checking out.

The Edge district offers a unique blend of restaurants, boutiques, and cafes. You’ll be sure to find something you love in the trendy downtown area. For those who love a good night out, there’s an escape room game and yoga studios. The Edge district is also known for its live music and street performances. So make sure you check out the Edge district during your next visit to St. Petersburg Florida. You’ll find plenty to do in this vibrant city.

If you’re interested in art, consider visiting the Morean Arts Center. Open on Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, the museum features more than 100 murals, including 50 large-scale murals. For art lovers, there’s also the Chihuly Collection, a stunning glasswork gallery located at Central Avenue. For those with an interest in the arts, you can take a tour of the fort or visit the Moran Glass Studio, which is open Wednesday-Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.

Wine lovers can also find something to enjoy at the Florida Winery. The Florida Winery is a family-owned and operated winery that produces a variety of tropical fruit wines. The wines are also good souvenirs to take home. If you’re a wine enthusiast, you can try the acclaimed Key Lime Wine, which is unique in flavor and texture. If you’re looking for a romantic location for a romantic wedding, the Gizella Kopsick Arboretum is a great choice.
