If you’re interested in learning more about the founding of the United States, consider a visit to Yorktown, Virginia. This historic town is a prime location for history buffs and is a walkable city, offering most major sights within walking distance. If you want to save money while traveling, try hopping on a free trolley ride from the American Revolutionary Museum to the Battlefield. If you’d prefer to drive, park your car at the waterfront or Riverwalk landing, which are easy to reach. Getting around Yorktown is a breeze, and the small town feels like a charming quaint village.

A 23-mile scenic parkway connects the historic triangle, allowing visitors to view the beauty of the area. Passing is allowed only in designated passing lanes and is only permitted when oncoming traffic has cleared. The parkway’s landscape is beautiful, but motorists should use caution and obey all posted signs and signals to ensure their safety. Virginia’s parks are filled with history, and you can’t help but admire its ruins and art galleries.
