Aiken is a city located in western South Carolina. It is the county seat and largest city in Aiken County. It is also one of the two largest cities in the Central Savannah River Area. Aiken is part of the Augusta-Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city has a population of approximately 61,700 people. During the 2010 census, there were 58,349 residents living in Aiken.

Aiken’s arts scene is vibrant and diverse. The Aiken Center for the Arts is a hub for the local arts community. The center features a gallery of local artists, music recitals, and art exhibits. Aiken’s URS Center for the Arts hosts a variety of art events and concerts. There is also a theater and a museum where visitors can view local art. Aiken offers a wide variety of culture and entertainment for all tastes.

The Aiken Farmers Market offers locally produced food and products from local farmers. You can find baked goods, honey, and dried meats at the market. The Aiken Community Theatre is a hub for performing arts in the city. Aiken’s small venue is ideal for experiencing a play or a musical. Several acclaimed productions are held in the theater. If you can’t make it to the theater, you can always grab a souvenir from the gift shop or the Visitors Center.

Aiken is known for its vibrant nightlife. Downtown, you can explore Aiken’s art scene with restaurants and bars. Aiken’s waterfront is home to the world’s oldest corn hole court and Aiken Fish House. For a more laid-back meal, head to Betsy’s Round the Corner. The City Billiards is another popular hangout. There are several restaurants in downtown Aiken.

The city has a strong economic foundation, largely due to the many large employers. The Savannah River Site, a former nuclear weapons site, employs about 10,000 people and is being refurbished for future uses. This project is expected to produce fuel for commercial nuclear reactors. Other major employers include Kimberly-Clark, Bridgestone, Firestone, and United Parcel Service. Aiken is an excellent place to do business.

The Aiken County Museum is a must-see. You can learn about the history of the county by visiting the Aiken Train Station. You can also see beautiful horses at the Aiken Training Track. The Aiken Training Track is an enduring symbol of the community’s love for horses. You can see a variety of art in Aiken, and find something you love in the process. This is a city that never sleeps.

Aiken SC is a city located in southern South Carolina. It is part of the Augusta-Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical Area, which provides more resources for local governments. This helps keep the property tax rates low. The county’s millage rate has decreased every year since 1990. Aiken SC has a homestead exemption of $50,000. This exemption applies to real estate and school tax collections. It is worth taking a trip to Aiken, SC.
