Dover, Delaware is the state’s capital and is a popular destination for visitors from around the world. First State Heritage Park, with several sites located around the centuries-old Green, is a must-see attraction. The Old State House, built in 1791, is a popular tourist spot, as is the Biggs Museum of American Art. There are also NASCAR races at Dover International Speedway, and the Air Mobility Command Museum on the former Dover Air Base. The Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is another popular location for wildlife viewing.

Dover has a mild climate with temperatures ranging from 35.2 degrees Fahrenheit in January to 77 degrees in July. The city enjoys 2300 hours of sunshine a year, which means there is always plenty of sunshine for outdoor activities. There are also many things to do in Dover, including shopping, dining, and museums. While you’re here, you can visit the Delaware State Museum Buildings and the Caesar Rodney Cenotaph.

Dover is home to the Delaware State University, a historically black university. Dover was once home to Wesley College, which is now part of Delaware State University’s Downtown campus. There is also the Campus Community School on the grounds of the former Wesley College. The Terry Campus of Delaware Technical Community Center is the city’s administrative offices. The Wilmington University of the Delmarva are satellites of the Dover campus.

The Dover State Museum is another important attraction. It houses historical artifacts from the city’s history and is a great place to explore the city’s past. The Delaware Supreme Court is located here, as is the historic Kent County Courthouse. If you’re planning on going to the racetrack, don’t forget to book a ticket to the Dover International Raceway. There’s nothing quite like a race!

If you like to gamble, you can attend Dover International Speedway races. If you have a taste for horses, then the Dover Downs harness racecourse is a great place to visit. If you’re a sports fan, the Dover Downs racing course is close by.
