The city of Escalante, Utah, is a small, rural town in the central part of Garfield County. The city is located along Utah Scenic Byway 12. The first settlers of Escalante emigrated to the region in 1875. They were attracted by the mild climate and plenty of grazing land. The early residents of the town were also involved in cattle raising, timber harvesting, and mining. In 1876, the pioneers built the first brick home. Today, there are approximately 95 homes in Escalante. This small community is home to a diverse population of people.

The first settlers came to the area from nearby Panguitch in 1875. They staked out twenty-acre parcels on a grid system, and met up with some of the members of John Wesley Powell’s famous expeditions. These pioneers were so impressed with the location of the town that they decided to call it Escalante. In 1876, the first brick home was built. Today, there are about 95 such homes in the city.

The area was a popular destination for cattle ranching, timber harvesting, and mining. The settlers settled on 20 acres and built fifty brick houses. In the beginning of the 19th century, the area was home to several small settlements. The area was a natural fort with a long growing season and abundant grazing land. The settlers of the town built fifty native brick homes, surrounded by ten-acre farms. The towns were built on a “Zion Plan” and four homes to the block. In 1875, the city became a town and a ranch was established.

In spring, temperatures are the most pleasant. Summers can reach the high 90s, but temperatures remain cool. Winters are the coldest. The average rainfall in the area is around ten inches. The town has a diverse climate. In winter, you can experience snowfall in the mountains. If you love the outdoors, you’ll find the slot canyons in Escalante. The town is an ideal place to explore.

The town of Escalante is the ideal location to visit in Southern Utah. The town was settled in 1875, and its name comes from a Spanish Missionary who visited the area in 1776. The town is an oasis of nature and is one of the few places where you can find natural scenery. For instance, there is a huge canyon with a waterfall in the middle of it. In addition to this, there is also a small creek.
