Travelers to Middletown and Strasburg, Virginia will find that there are many things to do. The town has several historic homes, parks, and movie theaters. You can also visit the Belle Grove Plantation. In addition to historic sites, you can also play paintball in the area. All of these activities can be found within a 25-mile radius of the city. Middletown also offers several different types of restaurants. If you enjoy the arts, you’ll find many museums and galleries in this region.

While the distance between Middletown and Strasburg may not seem that great, it is actually a relatively short drive. Both towns have about the same number of sunny days and rainy days. Additionally, Middletown has a higher cost of living than Strasburg, which means you’ll be spending more money on groceries and health care in Middletown. The cost of gas in Middletown is around $0.94 a gallon. You should keep in mind that Middletown and Strasburg have very similar weather conditions, but you’ll have to factor in the cost of child care, utilities, and health insurance premiums.

The region has a number of historical sites and attractions, including the Belle Grove Plantation, where President James Madison’s sister fought her final battle in the Civil War. The town also features the Chimborazo Hospital, which is said to be the oldest continuously operating inn in the United States. The town is a prime location for antiques and collectibles hunting. Besides the Belle Grove Plantation, Middletown and Strasburg are ideal for a day at the theatre.

Nearby Middletown and Strasburg Virginia is the Appalachian Trail. This trail is popular with hiking enthusiasts. While you’re in the area, don’t forget to check out McLean House, where the Northern Virginia Army surrendered, ending the Civil War. While the Appalachian Trail is a great way to spend a day in Middletown and Strasburg, you can also take advantage of the National Historic Trail.

The battlefield is another major attraction in the area. At Fort Monroe, Jefferson Davis was imprisoned and later became president. Its location also made it an important site for freeing slaves. Today, the Casemate Museum tells the history of the fort since the early 1600s. In addition to the Fort Monroe National Battlefield, Middletown and Strasburg have four other major Civil War battlefields. Visit Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Spotsylvania National Cemetery, which contains many unknown mass graves.
