15 Classic Souvenirs from Payson Arizona

June 6, 2022 | More: Souvenirs

The most obvious tourist attraction in Payson Arizona is the Mogollon Rim. This natural landmark is made up of limestone and sandstone, and there is a lookout point from which you can view the entire region. You can take a hike or drive a car along this rim. Camping is also available in the area, and you can even enjoy the view from the rim. The weather in Payson is as varied as the landscape.

If you don’t want to venture outside, explore the local museums and historic sites. Visit the Rim Country Museum, a historical site run by the local historical society. There are exhibits on the life and times of the famous author Zane Grey, who wrote western novels decades after his death. You can also find displays at the Blacksmith Shop, Apache Display, and Apache Cabin. A trip to Payson would not be complete without a visit to these attractions.

Alternatively, you can check out the Farmers Market in Payson, which is a great place to buy fresh produce. Located on Sawmill Crossing Plaza, this market is popular with locals and tourists alike. There are many stalls to choose from, including fresh vegetables and flowers. There are also many local artisans who sell handmade items. In addition to local food and goods, you can also check out the Payson Farmers Market, which only occurs on Saturdays.

If you’re planning a visit to Payson, make sure to visit the city’s historic Main Street. Located just two hours away from Phoenix, the town is packed with visitors on weekends, but you’ll still find plenty to do. If you love history, you’ll want to take in the city’s many historic sites, such as the Deming Pioneer Plaza. If you’re interested in local arts and culture, you can also check out the town’s first jailhouse.

Fishing is another popular activity in Payson. There are plenty of opportunities to catch trout and other game fish. The Mogollon Rim has numerous natural water resources, including several reservoirs and streams stocked with largemouth bass, walleye, and northern pike. This fish can grow to the size of a man’s leg, so the Mogollon Rim is an ideal place to go fishing. This area is also home to some interesting wildlife.

A popular tourist destination in central Arizona, Payson is located between rugged desert and cooler mountain climes. It’s also located near the Mogollon Rim, a large plateau that sits at 7,000 feet above sea level. The area is home to pristine mountain lakes, ponderosa pine forests, and many other types of plants and wildlife. In addition to hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching are also popular in Payson.
