15 Classic Souvenirs from Sheridan Wyoming

July 7, 2022 | More: Sheridan Wyoming| Souvenirs

If you’re looking for a place to stay while visiting Sheridan Wyoming, you’ve come to the right place. This city is home to several hotels, including the historic Sheridan Hotel, which reopened in 2015 after major renovations. Rooms at this historic inn are simple, and by today’s standards they are quite small, but they’re steeped in local history. The location on Main Street is the perfect starting point for exploring Sheridan.

There are many things to do in Sheridan, and if you’re interested in the town’s history, the city’s 127-year-old Historic Sheridan Inn offers a historic tour. Nearby, you can explore the Medicine Wheel, a ten-thousand-foot-high stone circle used by Native Americans as a spiritual gathering place. In addition to historical attractions, the downtown area has many turn-of-the-century buildings that are home to shops, boutiques, and galleries. If you’re looking for modern pottery, you’ll find plenty of those as well.

There are plenty of places to get your drink on in Sheridan, from the Weston Winery and Brewery to the Mint Bar. In addition to restaurants and local businesses, there are several watering holes in Sheridan. The Black Tooth Brewery, which opened in a converted car dealership, has an impressive selection of craft beer, as does Weston Wineries. The Mint Bar is another interesting bar that serves delicious food.

If you want to experience western-themed merchandise, there are several unique shops in town. King’s Saddlery and King Ropes is known for rope and “Sheridan-style” saddles. You can also buy western boots and hats at the Don King Museum. There is a collection of western artifacts and memorabilia, including old wagon coaches, guns, and a storied history. In 1984, Queen Elizabeth II paid a visit to King’s Saddlery & King Ropes.

Sheridan has a strong rodeo culture, starting with the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, which first took place in 1931. The rodeo now attracts more than 25,000 people every year and is considered one of the top rodeos in the world. The Sheridan County Fairgrounds is home to the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, which just launched its Cowboy State Elite Rodeo, which is the only ERA League of Champions rodeo event to take place in an outdoor arena.

The surrounding area is also home to some great places for hiking and biking. The Tongue River Shuttle is an excellent trail for mountain biking in Wyoming, with fantastic views and fast descents. Another popular attraction is the Bighorn Medicine Wheel, an ancient Native American ritual site centered around an 80-foot-wide circle of limestone boulders. While you’re in the area, be sure to check out the Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area. The park offers summer hiking and biking, along with winter skiing.

Sheridan is nestled between the Rocky Mountains and the Bighorn Mountains and is an ideal destination for people who enjoy the outdoors. Located midway between Yellowstone National Park and Mt. Rushmore, this town offers a rich history and many engaging outdoor recreational opportunities. For example, there are legendary watering holes in the downtown area. The city has a vibrant arts scene and is home to 46 historic buildings. There are plenty of museums and galleries in Sheridan that are well worth a visit.
