15 Classic Souvenirs from Tampa

July 29, 2022 | More: Souvenirs

As a major shipping port, Tampa has experienced many dramatic changes throughout the years. The Civil War brought heavy fighting across the Gulf Coast and in Tampa, the town was temporarily occupied by federal forces. Federal forces remained in Tampa until August 1869, but the city’s fortunes took a turn in the mid-1880s. In 1883, phosphate was discovered in the Bone Valley area southeast of Tampa. This resource is vital to the production of fertilizers and many other products. Phosphate is shipped out of the Port of Tampa in great quantities. The city is still a major phosphate exporter.

Whether you’re looking for a unique gift or just want to browse some unique items, Tampa has something for everyone. With more than four thousand square feet of space, this store offers something for everyone. Whether you’re shopping for a loved one, an employee, or for yourself, you’re sure to find the perfect gift. This store has been in business for twenty years and boasts great service and quality merchandise. They also offer custom gift baskets and online shopping.

For bargain hunters in Tampa, the Plant City Farm & Flea Market is a great place to check out. This market features more than 100 vendors selling all kinds of household items and fresh produce. In addition to home goods, you’ll find bulk produce for restaurants. The Plant City Farm & Flea Market is only open on Wednesdays, so plan your visit around that. Enjoy the live music as you shop. Then, if you’re a history buff, you can spend an evening watching a movie.

While the city has seen many changes over the years, Tampa remains an underdog amongst the major cities in the U.S. The city’s most notable landmarks are the Tampa Bay Hotel, Plant Park, the Tampa Aquarium, and the Florida Museum of Photographic Art. Many of these historic buildings are now museums and attractions, while the Tampa Bay Hotel is an iconic landmark of downtown. It cost $2.5 million to build. There are several attractions in the area that are not available in any other major American city.

The city is surrounded by water. Tampa is surrounded by Hillsborough Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. To the east, the city is bounded by the Hillsborough River, while to the north, it is surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico. The Palm River flows east of the city and merges with McKay Bay, a smaller inlet. The Interbay Peninsula, which separates Hillsborough Bay from Old Tampa Bay, is an important geographic feature.

Aside from the Tampa Bay Canal, Tampa’s historic buildings are also an excellent place to grab a cup of coffee. In addition to coffee, there’s a coffee bar where you can try local signature drinks like Coco-Corona. Known for its signature drink – a coffee with spice and caramel sauce – King Corona Cigar Cafe is owned by a family that made cigars for Vicente Martinez Ybor. Since cigars were made in Tampa in the 1880s, it quickly became the world’s tobacco production center. This city also drew many immigrants from Cuba, Spain, and Italy.
