January 27, 2022 | More: Annapolis| Hiking Trails

If you are planning a trip to Maryland, it is worth a visit to Annapolis, the state’s capital city, located on the Chesapeake Bay. The historic district features 18th century brick houses and the 1700s Maryland State House. Visit the Romanesque-style St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, complete with Tiffany glass windows and a historic cemetery. While you’re in town, don’t miss the United States Naval Academy, with its beaux-arts architecture, monuments and naval history museum.

In addition to the National Archives, Annapolis has several museums, including the African American Heritage Memorial, which encourages people from diverse backgrounds to search for their ancestry. The African American Heritage Memorial, which was built in the early 2000s, tells the story of the enslaved African named Kunta Kinte who was brought to Annapolis in 1767. The museum has been open to the public for more than 20 years and attracts one million visitors per year.

The William Paca House and Garden is an 18th century mansion with beautiful gardens. Its Georgian architecture style is stunning and is one of the best things to see in Annapolis. Aside from the William Paca House, there are many other historic homes and gardens that you can visit while you’re in town. If you’re looking for a free thing to do in Annapolis, the Hammond-Harwood House may be right for you.

A visit to the William Paca House is another great way to experience the colonial past of Annapolis. This historic mansion features period furnishings and is a must-see. It was home to the elite before and after the American Revolution, and is the oldest state house in the country. During this time, the house was America’s capital for nearly a year and was the site of several national events. A trip to Annapolis is not complete without a visit to the William Paca House.

There are many historic structures in the city. There are multiple Colonial trolley tours, where you can learn about the city’s history. You can also visit the Hammond-Harwood House, which features a beautiful 18th century garden and antiques. There are also guided tours of pre-Revolutionary mansions at the Historic Annapolis Museum and Store. The town’s museums are also worth a visit. Whether you’re looking to shop for local art or explore the rich history of the area, there’s something for everyone.

The city’s colonial history is well-documented. The Hammond-Harwood House was built in 1774 and was designated a Historic National Landmark in 1960. It is one of the few remaining British colonial houses in the United States. The museum is filled with original furnishings, and many of the rooms are furnished like those of the 18th century. The museum is also a great place to learn about the city’s rich history.
