15 Hiking Trails in Denver

March 11, 2022 | More: Denver| Hiking Trails

The capital city of Colorado is an amazing city to explore. The Old West era is evident in the architecture of many buildings, but today, the vibrant modern downtown is a cultural hotspot. The modern Art Museum is an ultramodern complex, home to a stunning collection of indigenous artwork, and the city’s historic Molly Brown Mansion is a must-see. The nearby ski resorts make Denver a great jumping off point for skiers and snowboarders.

Hiking is popular in the surrounding mountains. In the red rock region, the Red Rocks Amphitheater hosts concerts and is a popular spot for outdoor recreation. The area is lined with trees and bright red rocks and is a perfect place to enjoy a sunset or picnic with family and friends. You can even go fishing in the river during a rainy day. The city’s parks and nature preserves offer the perfect setting for family activities.

For a more challenging hike, there are several hiking trails in the area. The Boulder Creek Path, a moderately trafficked trail, follows the creek from Eben G. Fine Park to Fourmile Canyon. This trail is relatively flat, but it is well-marked. The Colorado Trail leads to the Strontia Springs Dam and Waterton Canyon Picnic Area. The area is not heavily populated. If you want to hike in the woods, you can choose to hike in the surrounding mountains, such as Mount Evans.

One of the best ways to get a taste of the outdoors in Denver is to take a hike along one of the many beautiful trails. The city has many public community gardens. The nonprofit organization Denver Urban Gardens organizes hiking tours for the public. The city has a large network of public community gardens, which are perfect for a picnic or a relaxing stroll. In addition to these, there are several other places where you can picnic, play sports, and spend quality time with the family.

Another popular hike in Denver is the Mayflower Gulch Trail, a six-mile trail with a scenic view of the mountains. There are many other hiking trails in the area, including the Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Blue Sky Loop. You can check out all of them by downloading the app AllTrails.com and using the app to locate the best trails for you. You can even red line your way to your favorite spots in the mountains!

Aside from hiking trails, Denver also offers numerous places for horseback riding. Located just off Interstate 70, the Castle Rock Trail is a popular hiking destination near Denver. Despite its name, the mountain is actually a massive rock that looks like a castle. The trail offers moderate views of the city and Long’s Peak. Whether you’re a hiker or just looking to see the sights, this route is the perfect way to spend your time.
