March 17, 2022 | More: Ellensburg Washington| Hiking Trails

Traveling to Ellensburg Washington may be your next best bet if you are in the mood for a little city break. Nestled near the junction of Interstate 90 and Interstate 82, Ellensburg is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Seattle. From here, you can find a host of great places to visit, from the historic downtown to the quaint neighborhoods. Here are some reasons to visit this Washington city.

First of all, this town is known for its vibrant arts scene. Many historic buildings in Ellensburg are covered in paintings and sculptures. The town also has art galleries, classes, and a First Friday Art Walk every first Friday of the month. It also has its own version of the “Battle of the Orchards.” Each year, the Ellensburg School of Arts and Humanities hosts a free, outdoor art show.

You can enjoy a slice of pizza at Cornerstone Pie. This bakery uses reclaimed wood, recycled doors, and surgical lights from an old hospital. Their 8,000-pound wood-fired oven makes the perfect pie. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The menu features eleven different varieties of pizza, including a vegetarian version. They also offer locally roasted D & M Coffee. The coffee served in this cafe is the best around.

For a sweet treat, try a sundae at Winegar’s Coffee and Creamery. They have two locations, the one west of Central Washington University and the one just south of the Central Washington University. The ice cream shop’s coffee is excellent and the menu includes a variety of tasty treats. There are also root beer floats, a popular beverage, and many other tasty drinks. Whether you’re looking for a delicious cup of coffee or a cold treat, there’s sure to be something for you.

If you’re looking for a scenic, hilly trail, Ellensburg is the place for you. There are many hiking trails and biking trails in the area. The Kachess Lake to Snoqualmie Pass trail is a 27 mile point-to-point trail that’s mostly used by hikers. It’s also home to the Kendall Katwalk, a rock path blasted into a cliff face.

Ellensburg is also home to the Central Washington University and holds an annual rodeo each Labor Day weekend. Located about 110 miles east of Seattle and 170 miles west of Spokane, Ellensburg is the perfect place to start and end your next adventure. Several national forests and two rivers are nearby, as well as 230 acres of city park land. There’s something for everyone in Ellensburg. You’re sure to find the right fit for your needs and your budget.

The town’s Wild West roots can be found in the Ellensburg Rodeo, the state’s largest rodeo. Held every Labor Day weekend, the event is a major event in the community. The event is a long-standing tradition in the town, and is one of the largest in the state. The town also features a rodeo hall of fame, which explores the history of the rodeo tradition and displays memorabilia from different eras.
