If you’re considering a vacation in the great state of Colorado, you may want to consider Fort Collins, CO. This beautiful city has plenty to offer visitors. The Old Town district features 1800s houses, a vintage trolley, specialty shops, and restaurants. You can check out the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery for some interactive exhibits, as well as a digital dome theater. Other nearby attractions include Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, which features the Horsetooth Rock formation, and Horsetooth Falls.

If you’re interested in learning more about science and how it applies to the local area, there are several museums and science centers. The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery combines natural and social history, introducing scientific principles in an entertaining manner. The museum covers the natural history of the region as well as the development of Fort Collins. Visitors can also participate in hands-on experiments that allow them to explore science at its most basic level. The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is located in the historic Aggie Theater, which is well worth a visit.

If you prefer hiking in a natural setting, there are dozens of hiking trails in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Pineridge Natural Area, located west of Fort Collins, is one of the city’s first protected natural areas. Hiking here is great for wildlife viewing. Another hiking trail, the Poudre River Trail, is 21 miles long and meanders through the Cache la Poudre River. You can even hike through the Poudre River while you’re hiking to avoid getting a parking ticket!

The City of Fort Collins is dedicated to maintaining several trails for walking, jogging, and in-line skating. The trails are maintained year-round and snow is melted. Many people choose to bike on the trails as a way to commute to and from work. In addition to biking trails, Fort Collins has 280 miles of designated bikeways. Several of the routes are paved, and the Poudre River Trail stretches five miles across the city.

Another way to get a taste of Fort Collins is to tour the Brewery District. There are many local breweries that offer tours of their operations, including Budweiser, New Belgium, Odell, and Poudre Valley Brewing Co. You can even enjoy a free tasting while you’re visiting. If you want to experience the authentic local culture, you can go on a guided tour of one of the breweries.

There’s a rich cultural scene in Fort Collins. The city is home to half a dozen live theater stages throughout the year. A symphony orchestra and ballet troupe also perform regularly, as well as several choral ensembles. A number of performance venues accommodate national touring shows. You can also attend art exhibits, including museums of historical kimonos and animation art. Regardless of your interests, Fort Collins has something for everyone.

If you’re considering moving to Fort Collins, you should know that the city has some great school districts. Fort Collins’s Poudre School District includes ten public schools, including Boltz Middle School, Cache La Poudre High School, Wellington Middle School, and the Polaris Expeditionary Learning School. Fort Collins is home to several state charter schools, including the Academy of Arts and Knowledge, Colorado Early Colleges, and Global Village Academy. Private schools in Fort Collins include Heritage Christian Academy, St. Paul Catholic School, and the Fort Collins Christian Academy.
