You’ve probably heard of Pawleys Island before, but do you know where it is? The antebellum district has many fine properties. Many of these have remained in the same families for generations. The loggerhead turtle is the most common type of sea turtle found on Pawleys Island. From mid-May to July, the loggerhead turtle lays its nests on Pawleys Beach. The nests can be four feet by three feet. These nests can contain as many as 120 golf-ball-sized eggs. Because some nests are in the intertidal zone, the South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts helps relocate these harmful nests.

You can choose from guided boat tours, pier fishing lessons, and even take a guided horseback tour. And if you are traveling with your family, make sure to bring pet supplies with you.
