15 Hiking Trails in Reno Nevada

June 16, 2022 | More: Hiking Trails

If you want to experience the thrill of gambling, head to Reno, Nevada, where you’ll find a thriving casino scene and interesting museums. Reno is also home to theaters, casinos, and funky nightlife. If you’re planning a trip to Reno, make sure to check out the National Automobile Museum, which boasts 200 historic automobiles. If you’re looking for a good meal before or after you play, look no further than the local dining scene.

The city’s parks offer a variety of outdoor activities for visitors, including hiking and biking. There are many parks and trails around Reno, including the Virginia Foothills and Lake Tahoe Regional Park. A mile-long loop trail is ideal for early morning jogs or bike rides, while a tunnel connects the north and south portions of the park. Whether you’re looking for a quick run or an extended bike ride, there are endless ways to get outdoors in Reno.

Hiking is another popular outdoor activity in Reno. There are numerous hikes, with varying levels of difficulty. There’s no shortage of places to explore, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced hiker. And with the beautiful surrounding landscapes, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views. No matter what level of fitness you have, hiking in Reno will give you an opportunity to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Luckily, hiking trails are easily accessible from hotels and other lodging options.

The downtown area is dotted with great outdoor activity spots. The downtown Riverwalk area offers great photo opportunities and is home to local farmers selling fresh goods. It’s also the focal point of Reno, so don’t miss it. There are even spas and galleries in the Riverwalk District. These are just some of the things to do while you’re visiting Reno Nevada. If you have more time, you can try out a game of archery tag, which is an increasingly popular recreational activity.

The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts is an iconic building located downtown. During the 1960s, the center hosted touring concerts, Broadway shows, and sold-out plays. Today, it puts on more than 120 events each year, including musicals, plays, and other live entertainment. The Pioneer Center is home to four distinct groups: The Reno Symphony Orchestra, The Grand Theater, and The Club at Arrowcreek. It’s worth mentioning that all of these places are located within easy reach of the downtown area.

The Wilbur May Museum features an internationally-renowned collection of artifacts. In addition, the museum has an impressive botanical garden with rare specimens. Visitors can also take in the Arboretum, an expansive 13-acre landscape with waterfalls, rock gardens, and wetlands. These attractions are located in the Reno-Sparks area, a few miles south of Lake Tahoe. There are plenty of other fun things to do in Reno.
