A trip to St. Petersburg Florida is not complete without a visit to the Sunken Gardens. This living museum features more than 50,000 plant species, many of them more than 100 years old. The gardens evolve throughout the year and are constantly being added to. There are even free walking tours of the gardens. Visitors can even enjoy the local music scene. Aside from visiting the Sunken Gardens, St. Petersburg has many other attractions worth checking out.

The city is also home to a Major League Baseball team, The Tampa Bay Rays. The stadium, also known as “The Trop,” has been used for baseball games, college basketball games, football tournaments, and pro hockey tournaments. Throughout the years, the venue has hosted performances by David Bowie, Janet Jackson, and the rock band Kiss. In addition to the major league teams, St. Petersburg has several cultural institutions, including museums, art galleries, and a vibrant arts scene.

In addition to museums and historical sites, visitors can also experience the history of the African American community in the city. The African American Heritage Trail is a walking tour of neighborhoods that were heavily impacted by the African American community in the past. It features 19 markers covering more than a dozen blocks of the city. The trail is an excellent way to learn about the city’s African American history. The sun is shining all year round in St. Petersburg, which is known as “The Sunshine City.” The beaches are beautiful and popular year-round, with endless sunshine and crystal clear waters. There are also numerous parks and activities along the beach. Whether you are looking to go paddleboarding or sunbath on the beach, there is plenty to do. The downtown area is also a vibrant and interesting place to visit. If you are planning a romantic getaway, St. Petersburg has many unique cultural and art attractions that can make your getaway a memorable one.

If you’re looking for something a bit more active, St. Pete Beach is a great option. There’s a six-mile horseback trail and plenty of wildlife and plants to spot. And if you’re looking to get your heart racing, you can stroll along the waterfront in the evening, or spend the day relaxing on the beach. The city’s beaches have won numerous awards and accolades, including Tripadvisor’s Best U.S. Beaches, and it’s no wonder the beaches in St. Petersburg are one of the best.

The Weedon Island Preserve is an 3,000-acre nature oasis in St. Petersburg. It features diverse ecosystems, which make it a very important habitat for local plants. The preserve also features almost two miles of boardwalk trails and a nature center with information on local plants and animals. It has a great education center and backpacks filled with useful information for visitors. During your visit to the city, make sure you take time to explore the preserve.
