Planning a vacation to The Kennebunks? Find out the best ways to enjoy your time at this picturesque destination. This small town is located in York County, Maine. The estimated population is 11,536 at the 2020 census. You can also check out these other places to visit in Maine. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, there are many reasons to visit this charming town.

While you’re in town, enjoy award-winning dining in one of the many restaurants. If you’re bringing the whole family, check out the various attractions in Kennebunkport. There’s something for everyone to enjoy! The town is also home to several festivals throughout the year, making it a perfect destination for any type of family. In the winter, the area is a bit sleepy, but the summer months are the best times to experience it.

The town of Kennebunk is located in York County, southwestern Maine. It is located at the mouth of the Kennebunk River, adjacent to the town of Kennebunk. The town was originally settled by Richard Vines in 1629. It later became a part of Massachusetts. Arundel was incorporated in 1653. In 1821, the town was renamed to Kennebunkport. The name is thought to be derived from the Abenaki and Mi’kmaq words for “long sandbar.”

If you’re planning a romantic getaway in the region, don’t miss out on the Old Fort Inn, a rustic-chic addition to the Cape Arundel Inn. A bicycle ride away, this quaint inn features large rooms, a pool, a leather dog, and a stone fireplace. Rooms at the Old Fort Inn start at $149 off season. Despite its name, the old fort is neither a hotel nor a restaurant but rather an art gallery.

The town has many unique attractions to offer tourists. Visitors can tour the area by foot, car, or with its famous in-town trolley. You can also enjoy a scenic tour of the area aboard a lobster boat, whale-watching, charter boat, or kayak. During fall and winter, the city offers quiet walks on the beach. The town also holds the famous Christmas Prelude. If you want to celebrate the season by purchasing a souvenir, there are many opportunities to buy it at the stores and boutiques that line the streets of the town.

A trip to the museum isn’t complete without a visit to the local art galleries. You can visit Minka, a skincare line created by local artisans, or the Whimsy Shop to buy nautical souvenirs and lobster claw ornaments. You can also take a guided tour of the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge, which features birch-based laser-cut bowls and a gallery. The city offers an excellent selection of art, including fine crafts.

The inn features nine well-appointed guest rooms. The rooms are tastefully decorated with bold contemporary decor and period furnishings. Each room includes a spacious bathroom with a shower/bath combination. The Lodge’s restaurant offers a complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon tea. The lodge’s sister hotel offers spa and fitness facilities. For your convenience, the Inn is close to Main Street and the town square. The Inn has weekend rates as low as $139 per month.
