The Lapham-Patterson House, built in 1884, is a national landmark and an excellent example of Victorian era architecture. The Lapham-Patterson House features a cantilevered balcony, double-flue chimney, long-leaf pine floors, and fishscale shingles. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1975. There are many historic sites to visit in Thomasville. Listed below are some of the best.

Vogel State Park is the oldest state park in the state, situated at the base of Blood Mountain. The park is accessible from Neel Gap and Brasstown Bald and is especially beautiful during the fall foliage. The park includes hiking trails, primitive backpacking sites, and cottages for rent. It is also the perfect place to spend a day camping or overnighting with the family. This place is the perfect destination for families with children and offers many options for families.

The city’s historic downtown district has several unique dining experiences. One of them is the Ritz Amphitheater and Park, which features an outdoor stage and is surrounded by unique retail stores and eateries. It is dog-friendly, too, and has drinking fountains. In addition to concerts and small festivals, the park also hosts First Friday Sip & Stroll events. There are many other fun things to do in the area. While in Thomasville, Georgia, make sure to visit a local coffee shop.

If you have children, take them on an educational hike through the Piedmont Park. The park offers science experiments, activities, and hikes for the entire family. Families can learn more about the history of the area and the surrounding areas by taking field trips. The city is home to many museums and historical sites, so there’s sure to be something to interest everyone. So don’t delay! Make your Thomasville Georgia trip a memorable one by visiting one of these attractions.

The proposed trail begins at Tift Park and connects to the existing community bathrooms. The trail continues south along the river until 2.5 miles south of Oakridge Rd. It will then connect to a city-owned easement that parallels the drainage canal to Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. A 10-foot side path is planned for this crossing. Eventually, it will connect to the Phoebe Putney Hospital and the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. The trail will also link to the newly developed medical student housing in downtown.

The Jack Hadley Black History Museum, also located in Thomasville, Georgia, educates visitors about the history and culture of African Americans. Named for the African American historian James “Jack” Hadley, the museum features over four thousand African American artifacts. The museum is centered on the First Black Achievers of Thomasville and honors state and national achievers. There is also a film and a gift shop.
