15 Hiking Trails in Winter Park Colorado

July 21, 2022 | More: Hiking Trails| Winter Park Colorado

If you’re a lover of outdoor recreation, then a visit to Winter Park Colorado is a must. You’ll find clean and healthy accommodations, endless mountain trails and untamed landscapes, and a lively downtown. The city offers many opportunities to connect with nature and your loved ones while finding inner peace. Here are some fun things to do in Winter Park. Take a ride on the free Winter Park Cabriolet.

One of the best hikes in the area is the Moffat Tunnel, an eight-mile train tunnel that was designed by industrialist David Moffat to avoid the snow. This railroad and water tunnel is located near the Winter Park resort, and features the historic West Portal and gigantic coal trains. Be sure to take a picture of this amazing landmark. You’ll want to come back later to check out other sites in the area. Alternatively, you can spend a night at the Winter Park Resort.

Winter Park is a year-round wonderland just 67 miles south of Denver. The town offers ski slopes and backcountry climbing, and is the home of one of the oldest continuously operating ski areas in the United States. Visitors to Winter Park Colorado can also enjoy a thriving downtown area and the modern ski village at the base of the slopes. Visitors can enjoy signature events and festivals in the region. So, plan a trip to Winter Park and make the most of the winter season. You’ll be glad you did!

The town’s vibrant nightlife offers many options for dining, drinking, and dancing. There are many cafes and restaurants, and you’ll never be far from a tasty burger or pizza. The city also boasts several distilleries, including Idlewild Spirits Distillery. It’s hard not to appreciate the town’s love of whiskey. Founders Pointe offers 194 units of studios, one and two-bedroom condos.

The ski resort has three peaks that have varied terrain. The Mary Jane side has legendary tree skiing and mogul runs. The Parsenn Bowl offers sweeping 360-degree views and a high-alpine experience for intermediates. Both sides of the mountain offer excellent tree skiing and a steep glade. While Mary Jane is more challenging, Winter Park has plenty of lodging options. With over 3,000 skiable acres, there is something for everyone.
