15 Reasons to Travel to Annapolis

January 26, 2022 | More: Why Travel to

On the Chesapeake Bay, the capital city of Maryland is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway. The historic district includes 18th century brick houses, the 1700s Maryland State House, the Tiffany glass windows-lined Romanesque-style St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, and a historic cemetery. The nearby United States Naval Academy has beaux arts architecture, monuments, and a naval history museum. Visitors will be fascinated by the history of the seafaring nation.

While on vacation, take advantage of the many attractions and activities the city has to offer. You can tour the National Harbor, tour the Maryland State House, and eat some of the best seafood in the country. If you have kids, consider sailing, or spend an afternoon at the beach. While you’re here, make sure you check out the local pub scene, including the Rams Head Tavern. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many attractions in Annapolis are closed.

If you’d like to see more of the Annapolis waterfront, you can explore the City Dock, also known as Ego Alley, which is home to many large privately owned boats. You can also hop aboard a public cruise, which usually leaves from the City Dock. If you’d like to experience some of the town’s best seafood and other food, take a water taxi to Eastport. There are also plenty of fine dining options.

If you’re planning a weekend trip to the Capital of Maryland, you can enjoy the sights without worrying about your budget. The city was originally known as the Athens of America and had an abundance of cultural and social activities. During the glittering social season, Annapolis was a center for intellectual stimulation and gracious hospitality. Now, the city attracts 4 million visitors annually. So whether you’re visiting for a long weekend or a month, it’s the ideal place to relax after a long day of traveling or commuting.

If you’re planning a weekend getaway, the historic downtown area is an excellent place to visit. The area has unique shops, galleries, and restaurants, and dozens of street art murals. Many of the murals depict historical imagery that is important to the city’s history. The area is also home to the Maryland State House, which served as the U.S. capitol for several years. Its architecture and historic sites have helped the city become a popular destination for tourists.

If you’re looking for something a little different, consider a weekend in Annapolis, Maryland. The city is home to some of the state’s most beautiful museums, including the U.S. Naval Academy and the Annapolis Maritime Museum. During the summer months, the city hosts many festivals and is a great destination for a long weekend. It is a great city for a holiday, and many people make it their permanent home.
