From mid-April to September, you can witness whales breaching in the waters around the city. You can see humpback whales, orcas, sperm whales, pilot whales, and sei whales. These gentle giants are magnificent to watch!

Visitors to Bar Harbor can also enjoy the views of the water from a scenic bench. The town has several small islands, such as Porcupine Island, Egg Rock, and Owl Rock.
