15 Reasons to Travel to Columbus OH

February 28, 2022 | More: Why Travel to

If you’re thinking about visiting the state capital of Ohio, consider a stay in Columbus. The city is home to many attractions, including the Scioto Mile, which is a series of parks with trails and an interactive fountain. Children can enjoy hands-on exhibits at the COSI science center, which includes a planetarium. Adults can visit the Columbus Museum of Art, which has European and American paintings and a sculpture garden. Families can also spend the afternoon touring the German Village, where the brick houses from the 1800s are preserved.

If you’re looking to keep the whole family entertained during your visit to Columbus, the Scioto Audubon Metro Park is a great option. Weekly guided hikes take place on Saturday mornings, and are ideal for all ages. You can also rent bikes and take a guided bike tour. Outdoor adventure lovers can take the kids to ZipZone Canopy Tours, which offers zipline tours and a treetop obstacle course. You can also visit the Columbus Zoo, which features several animals and an interactive kids’ area.

If you’d like to save money and time, the best way to get to Columbus is to take a flight. The John Glenn Airport is about six miles east of downtown Columbus and is a great option for tourists. However, traveling by plane is more expensive than traveling by bus and may be impractical for long trips. If you’re going to spend more time in Columbus, it’s worth looking at other modes of transportation.

If you’re looking for a cultural experience, consider dining at a restaurant in the German Village. Schmidt’s Sausage Haus and the Book Loft are among the best places to experience different cultures in the midwest. The Columbus Museum of Art also features an impressive collection of works of art from around the world, with a world-inspired design. If you’re not into food, head to the local bookstore and browse through the 32 rooms of books.

Rock on the Range is one of the most famous rock festivals in the country. The Rock on the Range festival takes place in Columbus, Ohio, on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. During the festival, you can enjoy concerts from the likes of Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers. It also offers a great selection of concerts that are held every year. There is plenty to do in Columbus. Just make sure to plan enough time to explore the city.

Columbus is known for its thriving arts and business community. The city is home to The Ohio State University, which has nearly 50,000 students. If you’re looking for a hip and happening nightlife scene, try the Easton Town Center. While Columbus is not the only city in Ohio with a vibrant arts scene, it is one of the most diverse cities. It’s easy to get around and is home to numerous historic landmarks.
