Crescent City is the only incorporated city in Del Norte County. The name refers to the crescent-shaped sandy beach south of the town. According to the 2020 census, the total population of the city was 6,673 compared to 7,643 in the 2010 census. In 2010, the population of the city was about the same. However, in the 1980 Census, the total number of residents was much lower at only 1,928.

When visiting Crescent City, California, be sure to check out the surrounding area. There are plenty of fun things to do in the area. From walking along the beach to biking on unpaved trails, the town has something for everyone. If you’re looking for an adventure, check out the quaint Downtown district. During your visit, make sure you stop at informational plaques to learn more about the city’s history. Then, be sure to try out some of the many restaurants, shops, and activities that the city has to offer.

If you’re a nature lover, consider taking a stroll through the Stout Grove area of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. If you’d prefer to take a ride on horseback, there are several companies that offer horseback riding in Crescent City. You can choose to hire a guide and ride the horses around the scenic area. The Crescent Trail Rides company is one of the most popular. You can enjoy the natural scenery while learning more about the history of the city.

If you’re a family person, Crescent City has many options for you. Battery Point Lighthouse is a fun place to go for a picnic and enjoy a scenic seafront view. The Battery Point Lighthouse, which is the northernmost California lighthouse station, is also worth a visit. It’s built with 22-inch-thick granite slabs and is located on a tiny island that you can reach only at low tide. You’ll need to cross the causeway to get to it, then climb the ladder and spiral staircase to get to the lamp room. After climbing the ladder and spiral staircase, you’ll find a trap door where you can climb to the top of the tower for a 360-degree view of the ocean and surrounding landscape. There’s also one more lighthouse in the area.

If you’re looking for places to go in Crescent City, consider the Redwoods. These unique woods in northern California are the only ones in the United States. The Coastal Redwoods range up to 300 feet tall and live for hundreds or even thousands of years. Luckily, there’s a park nearby to see a few of these amazing trees in action. If you’re a nature lover, you’ll want to spend time exploring the region.

If you’re looking for an exciting place to eat, check out the Chart Room Restaurant in Crescent City. This famous restaurant specializes in American style dishes, including seafood. It serves breakfast and brunch, and its food is delicious. You’ll find everything from steamer clams to oysters to clams to fresh salmon. There are plenty of other options in this small town. You’ll love these options in Crescent City.
