If you love to swim, you’ll find that Flathead Lake Area Montana offers many opportunities to do so. In addition to outstanding swimming opportunities, you can also find a variety of local fresh produce. Roadside stands sell locally grown produce, and some u-pick farms allow you to handpick your own. Cherries grown on the Flathead Lake are particularly popular, due to their huge size and sweet flavor. While you’re in the area, check out the local wineries and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the sights and sounds of this spectacular lake.

You’ll find a wide variety of restaurants and shops around the area, as well as three microbreweries in town. The area is also home to Mission Mountain Winery, a Montana craft brewery with a wide variety of wines to choose from. Whether you’re looking to relax on the waterfront or play golf, you’ll find many great options in the Flathead Lake Area. In addition to hiking, boating, and fishing, you’ll find a wide variety of recreational activities.

The climate in Flathead Lake Area Montana is moderate. The Mission and Salish Mountains border the lake, creating the Flathead Valley. A glacial damming event shaped the Flathead River, creating the Lake. The Flathead Valley’s mild climate helps sustain a diverse array of industries. Near the lake, you can find cherry orchards on the east shore, grape vineyards and other agriculture. You can also find vineyards, hay fields, and vegetable production.

The Flathead Lake Area is also home to several Native American tribes. If you’re looking for trophy Mackinaw, you can try fishing at the 300-foot depths of Flathead Lake. You’ll also find bass, lake trout, perch, and salmon. If you’re a serious fisher, you’ll be happy to find that there are many other species in the lakes around the lake.

The Flathead Lake Biological Station (FLBS) is one of the oldest active biological stations in the US. FLBS was founded by Dr. Morton Elrod in 1899, the first Biology Professor at the University of Montana. He also played a major role in the creation of the National Bison Range. In the summer of 2007, lakefront land on Flathead Lake was selling for close to ten thousand dollars per linear foot. By late 2009, this market had bottomed out, with the average price per linear foot now hovering around $3,000.

Polson is a small town located on the southern tip of Flathead Lake. Many visitors make this town their base camp when visiting the Flathead Lake Area. Polson has several attractions that appeal to the city, including easy access to the water, outdoor parks, and unique museums. For food, there are several restaurants in the area. The Betty’s Diner offers all-day breakfast and is a classic Americana cafe. Other options include Cherries BBQ Pit, The Cove Pizza and Deli, and Finley Point Grill, which specializes in steaks.
