The notch region is home to three natural wonders: Flume Gorge and Cathedral Ledge State Park. The Basin is a popular short hike with a 20-foot-wide granite pothole at the base of the waterfall. The gorge is located in the Cathedral Ledge State Park and is located just 5.6 miles from Franconia Notch. Avalanche Falls is another popular waterfall in the Franconia Notch area.
