If you’ve ever thought about moving to Grants Pass, Oregon, you’re in luck! The city is the county seat of Josephine County and is just northwest of Medford along the Rogue River. According to the 2020 census, the population was 39189. You’ll find that there are plenty of things to do in Grants Pass. Here are some of the best. Also known as the Rogue River city, Grants Pass is home to many interesting people.

The local area is home to a thriving wine and craft beer scene. Wine and craft beer enthusiasts can enjoy the local scene at the many wineries and breweries. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or a relaxing getaway, the town has something to offer. With so many fun things to do, Grants Pass is the perfect place to call home. For those interested in the history of the town, the caveman bridge on 6th Street was built by Conde McCullough in 1933 and has become a landmark in Grants Pass for years. Recently, it underwent a refurbishment, with neon lighting and a redwood Empire sign. In the summer of 2018, the Caveman Club decided to donate the statue to a local nonprofit. While the caveman statue is a symbol of the community’s history, the town has a vibrant arts scene.

Until the early 1970s, the lumber industry was one of the major employers in the town. After the decline of the lumber industry, the region became a major service sector, covering outdoor/sports/recreation and health care infrastructure. The state’s legalization of alcohol and tobacco use has also helped Grants Pass attract new businesses. The city’s downtown is now one of the busiest in Oregon. The Rogue River runs through the town and features Riverside Park. This area is known as the “whitewater rafting capital of Oregon” with over 25 outfitters offering rafting tours. Jet boats also provide tours through Hellgate Canyon, where you can view wildlife while enjoying the river. Several rivers run through Grants Pass, and the river is considered a National Wild and Scenic River. You’ll find several national parks and monuments here. There is no shortage of outdoor activities, whether you’re interested in hiking, biking, camping, or river rafting.
