15 Reasons to Travel to Pensacola Florida

June 6, 2022 | More: Pensacola Florida| Why Travel to

If you have been enchanted by the Blue Angels or simply want to see what they look like, then Pensacola Florida is the perfect place for you! From March through September, you can watch the Blue Angels conduct practice flights over Pensacola Beach. Then, in July, you can enjoy the city’s famous air show, the Pensacola Homecoming Air Show. No matter what your reasons are for visiting Pensacola, you’ll find plenty to do here.

A city with a population of more than 50,000, Pensacola still has all the perks of a big city without the crowds and traffic. Pensacola’s charming downtown is reminiscent of a less chaotic version of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Its charming Victorian homes and elaborate iron railings give Pensacola a distinctly New Orleans atmosphere. The town’s many restaurants serve up gumbo, as well as hurricanes.

The weather is mild and pleasant most of the year. During the summer, temperatures reach the low nineties. In the spring, temperatures are still comfortable, but by July, it can get very hot and humid. This weather pattern makes Pensacola the perfect destination for beachgoing and other outdoor activities. During your trip, pack lightweight clothing and beachwear. If you plan on exploring the city’s natural attractions, don’t forget to pack some shorts and a pair of flip-flops.

Whether you want to enjoy the sun and the surf, or explore its unique culture, Pensacola has plenty to offer. With one-sixth of the population of Orlando, Pensacola offers a diverse range of attractions and activities. You can explore the city’s maritime history and culture while dining at one of its many restaurants, or take in a show at the Opera House or Ballet. It is a great city for families to visit!

If you’re a history buff, one of the best things to do in Pensacola is visit the Museum of Industry. The museum is housed in a beautiful, historic building that was built for the Pensacola Ice Company in the 1870s. The exhibits in the museum include many artifacts related to the various industries in the city, such as old tools used in lumber processing and the various types of bricks manufactured in the city.

You can camp on a private beach or rent a kayak to explore the bay and see what it has to offer. The Gulf Islands National Seashore is located along the coast between Florida and Mississippi and offers undeveloped white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. You can also visit Fort Barrancas, a massive pre-Civil War brick fortress that was once home to Union troops and the Apache leader Geronimo.

If you are looking for something a little more casual, head to the Pensacola Indoor Playground. With plenty of foam pits and inflatables, this attraction is great for toddlers to 12-year-olds. The playground even sells food – pizza and nachos are some of the local favorites. For something a little more special, try the Irish pub McGuire’s Irish Pub. It’s housed in a vintage firehouse, which makes it especially unique.
