In 2010, the population of Sausalito, California, was 7,061 people. The density was 3128.5 people per square mile. The population was primarily composed of whites; there were also two percent of Pacific Islanders and nearly one in five people were 65 and older. Among the ethnic groups, one in four people in Sausalito are white, while two in five are Hispanic or Latino. As of 2010, 99.8% of the population lives in household units, and 0.2% live in non-institutionalized group quarters.

The town of Sausalito is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The downtown area is within walking distance of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Other nearby attractions include Muir Woods and Mt. Tamalpais, which have coastal redwood forests. Visitors can go hiking and biking in the area to experience all that Sausalito has to offer. During their stay, they can also enjoy the many art galleries that dot the city.

Visitors can take a ferry to Sausalito from San Francisco or drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. The ferry takes approximately 30 minutes to travel from San Francisco to Sausalito, and the schedule is subject to change. Tickets are $13 each way. In addition to walking and cycling, you can visit houseboats. The houseboats are an affordable way to explore the town. If you are visiting during the summer months, try to stay on one. The houses and cafes offer a wonderful atmosphere for families and children alike.

In downtown Sausalito, you can check out some of the artists and artisans who live there. Some of the local artists are featured in contemporary design magazines. One of these companies is Heath Ceramics. Located near a floating community, this company’s factory is open to the public and has many classes and exhibitions throughout the year. The city also offers free boat tours and kayak rentals. If you’re looking for a unique place to visit while on vacation, Sausalito’s waterfront is the perfect destination.
