If you’re planning a trip to Seneca Falls, New York, you’ve come to the right place. Seneca Falls is a hamlet in Seneca County, New York. According to the 2010 United States Census, the population of Seneca Falls is 6,681. The hamlet was incorporated in 1831, and the town was a village until 2011.

The town’s newest attraction is a non-profit museum honoring trailblazing American women. The hall will reopen in early summer 2020 and will showcase the biographies of women who made a mark in American history. Visitors to the museum will enjoy leaving notes for the trailblazing women. The National Women’s Hall of Fame also has an exhibition on its history. The 1844 Seneca Knitting Mill, an industrial limestone building that sits along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, has been restored.

The town is home to the National Women’s Hall of Fame and the Women’s Rights National Park. The town has many shops, professional offices, and parks. Recent efforts have restored the downtown district and expanded its educational offerings. The town also offers a vibrant culture. For example, the downtown district now features a new food and drink scene, as well as a thriving arts community. You’ll never be bored in Seneca Falls!

Visitors can also experience the iconic waterfall in a movie. ‘A Christmas Carol’ was filmed in Seneca Falls, and Jimmy Stewart jumped off its bridge to save the day. A visit to the Seneca Falls Bird and Wildlife Preserve is an excellent way to experience the diversity of birds in the Finger Lakes region. The Seneca Falls Visitor Center has maps of the preserve. There’s also a Christmas festival in December.

While visiting Seneca Falls, be sure to take some time to explore the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. This 12-mile long canal connects the Finger Lakes region with the Erie Canal. You can take a boat, car, or hike along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal for a day out. Hiking is another excellent outdoor activity in Seneca Falls, New York. Just don’t forget to pack a pair of hiking shoes!

A visit to the town’s bridge will provide you with a scenic view of the gorge. There are also several historic buildings in the city. The Bridge Street bridge is the oldest bridge in the area. The town’s downtown is lined with restaurants and bars. You can also browse WomanMade Products, an inspirational gift shop that supports local women entrepreneurs. You can also find a place to dock your boat at Canal Harbor, and walk the waterfront on the harbor promenade. The city was once known as ‘The Flats,’ and the upstream locks flooded the area.
