15 Reasons to Travel to Wilmington Vermont

July 20, 2022 | More: Why Travel to| Wilmington Vermont

If you’re planning a road trip from Boston to Wilmington, Vermont, you may be wondering how long it will take. You can find a quick answer to this question by looking at the distance between the two cities and calculating the time it will take you to complete the trip. Also, remember that there are many factors to consider, including whether or not you want to fly in a commercial airline. A private jet will allow you to fly in the fastest straight line, avoiding the need to wait in line.

If you love the outdoors, Wilmington Vermont has lakes and rivers for paddling and a mountain range to explore. Not only is the water fun, but it also offers breathtaking views. Lake Champlain, for example, forms a large part of the Vermont-New York border and is 107 miles long, stretching from West Haven to the Canadian border. The Adirondack Mountains, particularly in the northeast, are an incredible backdrop. And of course, the breathtaking sunsets are worth a trip!

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in Vermont, Wilmington might be the perfect place. There are several hotels in Wilmington that provide romantic amenities. You can also rent a boat to get around. Located near St. Albans, you can easily reach the island from the mainland by boat. If you’re traveling with your significant other, you can arrange boat slips to take you out on the lake. There are also hiking trails and paddling opportunities.

The Ticonderoga Museum campus features a Shaker-style Round Barn, General Store, carousel, and the 220-foot sidewheel steamboat Ticonderoga. Visitors can also explore the museum’s outdoor exhibits, archeology lab, theater, and boat shop. Another museum worth visiting is the Rokeby Museum, which explores the Underground Railroad and the Abolitionist Movement in Vermont. Located in Ferrisburgh, this museum has a 1780s farmstead and eight outbuildings, several miles of trails, and an underground railroad.

If you have time, you can visit the historic Hildene Estate. The estate was home to the United States’ 21st president, Chester Arthur. The interior exhibits will close in 2022, but the grounds are open. President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site preserves the childhood home and birthplace of the President. This attraction is open to the public on weekends and holidays. The site is also home to the state’s first president, George Washington.

Another event to check out in Wilmington is the Quechee Hot Air Balloon Festival, held every June. This event features continuous entertainment, more than 50 craft artisans, and other activities for children and adults. The event features several scenic views and a meadow for picnicking. Also, you can hike up Harris Hill to get a close look at the Olympic sport of ski jumping. This competition takes place each February on an Olympic-sized 90-meter hill.

While you’re in the area, check out some of the unique restaurants and shops. You’ll also find a large farmers market, where you can buy fresh local foods and listen to live music. If you’re looking for ice cream, consider visiting Ben & Jerry’s Farm, which began operations in 1978 in a renovated gas station. Today, the company’s factory makes three million pints a day.
