15 Reasons Why you should Stay in Berlin, Maryland

November 30, 2021 | More: Maryland| Why Travel to

In the heart of Worcester County, Berlin, Maryland, is a charming, historic small town with a lot to offer visitors. The town is located just 10 miles from the beach, and is home to several locally-owned businesses. The name Berlin, which means “inn” in German, is actually a variation of the name of a tavern that was located in the downtown area. While the name has no connection to the town’s German heritage, it does reflect the German-American history.

One of the many attractions in Berlin is the town’s antique shops. The many unique shops in Berlin are full of great pieces of home decor, jewelry, clothing, and more. The downtown area is alive with art, music, and local events throughout the year. If you’re looking for a gift for a friend or family member, Berlin is the place to go! It’s a charming, quaint town that will definitely keep you coming back!

The town was originally called “Stevenson’s Crossroads” because of its location near the ocean. However, the town’s name was changed to Berlin in 1868 when it was incorporated. As the town grew, it became a National Register Historic District, and today the historic commercial district has more than 50 stores. During the summer, it’s easy to spend time in the park with a picnic or a barbecue. The downtown area is home to some of the best barbecue in the state, and the Atlantic Hotel is a great place for a night out.

If you’re a fan of ghosts, Berlin is the place to go. Several live music venues are located in the town, including BoxCar on Main and Oh My Hair Salon. Several bars feature local musicians, and a number of them offer free tours. You can also attend a Berlin Ghost Walk to experience the town’s paranormal energy. You can even catch a live show at the Globe, and there are plenty of other ways to enjoy a day in the town.

In addition to the theaters, the town has a vibrant downtown with more than 60 retail shops. Its tavern, Burleigh Inn, was the town’s first school and is still the only place where people can drink beer. The town has two public schools and one private school, and both schools are part of the Worcester County Public Schools. The city is a thriving community with a rich history. The city is home to over 5,000 residents, and the local businesses are thriving.

A stroll along the historic downtown Berlin will leave you wanting to explore more of the town. It is located just seven miles from the famous Ocean City, and has three distinct periods of history. The historic downtown commercial district has been redeveloped over the past two decades, and features many restored buildings and structures. A walk on Main Street will show you historic homes and a beautiful Victorian-style mansion. For those who are looking for a little something to eat or drink, the market is a great place to find local food and beverages.
