15 Reasons Why you should Stay in Cape May

February 15, 2022 | More: Cape May| Why Travel to

The seaside town of Cape May is nestled in southern New Jersey, offering visitors a chance to soak up the sun and explore the grand Victorian mansions. Visit the Emlen Physick Estate, now a museum, and take a stroll down the pedestrianized Washington Street Mall. A highlight of a visit to Cape May is the Cape’s famous lighthouse, which offers views of both the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay.

You can find a variety of entertainment in Cape May, including live performances, dance performances, and family shows. For a fun and free night out, head to the Cape May Stage. You can watch a variety of shows, or enjoy a romantic dinner and a show. This is one of the best things to do in the town. The beach is also just a short drive away, so don’t miss this unique experience.

After enjoying the pristine shoreline, visitors should take in the town’s thriving arts scene. Several galleries, museums, and theaters offer a wide range of events and entertainment. A stroll down the Main Street provides an excellent view of the city. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening in a cozy nook or an energetic evening at a local pub, Cape May’s theatres have something to offer everyone.

There are numerous restaurants and eateries in Cape May. Most of these restaurants are seasonal, but they are open seven days a week from late May to early October. Nonetheless, you can find great places to eat just about anywhere. Whether you prefer a seafood restaurant or a burger, you’re sure to find a place to satisfy your cravings. If you’re on a tight budget, you can always buy fresh fish directly from the fishing boats.

In addition to its historic charm, the city’s revitalization efforts focus on sustainability and the arts. Many of the town’s hotels and guesthouses have been restored, giving visitors an opportunity to stay in a Victorian-style house in the heart of the city. Some of these homes have been preserved and are home to some of the oldest homes on Cape Island. While downtown shopping is limited, the Washington Street Mall provides ample opportunities to indulge in locally made goods.

In 1963, the city received a 3.5 million dollar grant from the federal government, which was the first such grant given to a small town. Its restored beach cottages are home to four charming shops that sell fresh produce and other farm-inspired merchandise. Three of Cape Resorts’ hotels were listed among the top 20 hotels in the Northeast by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. Similarly, the city is becoming more a hip destination than ever.

Visitors to Cape May will be delighted by its historic charm. Its colorful houses and gardens will surely delight your eyes, while the town’s marinas are a must-see for boaters. During the summer, you can enjoy a day of boating in the city’s bay. The city has some of the best beaches in New Jersey. If you’re traveling during the fall, you’ll have an opportunity to sample some of the best cuisine at the restaurant.
