15 Reasons Why you should Stay in Escondido California

March 16, 2022 | More: Escondido California| Why Travel to

Located in North County, Escondido is the largest city in San Diego County, about 30 miles northeast of downtown San Diego. The city is about 15 miles from the beach and 40 miles from the border with Mexico. It occupies a valley ringed by rocky hills and was incorporated in 1888, making it one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. This article provides information on what makes Escondido a great place to live, and what to do there.

If you’re looking for a campground in Escondido, check out All Seasons RV Park and Campground, a beautiful campground with spectacular views of the surrounding hills. Many of the RV pads have lake access, and the park has three separate laundry facilities. A great place to get away from it all is the acclaimed Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens, a popular dining destination for locals and tourists alike.

Located in downtown Escondido, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido was designed by renowned architect Charles Moore, who interpreted the style of Southern California architecture to reflect the area’s Spanish colonial history. The campus features a 1,500-seat concert hall, art studios, a conference center, and an educational program. The arts are a part of everyday life in Escondido, and its history is well-documented.

The town’s history can be traced back to the early years when Indians first settled the valley. These people built tiny villages more than 4,000 years ago. Archeologist Malcolm Rogers was one of the first to uncover the site’s pre-historic history. Once the city was incorporated, it was a hub of industry and a popular tourist destination. Today, it is a great place to visit. If you’re looking for an idyllic location, then make sure to check out these activities.

With the help of the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum, visitors can learn about the history of Escondido and the area. The park is popular with the entire community and includes several attractions and restaurants. The area also has a thriving commercial scene, including CashCo Pawn, Trillium Pharmacy, and ArtHatch Escape. During your visit to Escondido, don’t forget to check out the town’s special events.

There are several unique events in Escondido. The Cruin’ Grand car show in summer is a local favorite. The Jaycees Christmas parade in December is a wonderful way to celebrate the town’s heritage. You can even experience the culture of the area by attending the Winter Wonderland Festival. While the weather in the area may be hot in the winter, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery in the town year round.

The city was founded in 1843 when a group of Los Angeles investors purchased the Rancho Rincon del Diablo. The Escondido Company acquired the land in 1884 and was incorporated on December 18, 1885. The town’s first name, Rincon, is Spanish for “Corner of the Devil.” The name reflects the land’s proximity to the Missions, which were important to the area’s economic development.
